Decompression Procedures

Our Decompression Procedures course is designed for the diver who wishes to learn how to properly plan and execute dives exceeding recreational dive time limits.

This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive while not exceeding a maximum depth of 150 feet.

The most common equipment requirements, gear set-ups, decompression techniques and decompression mixtures (including Oxygen and Nitrox) are presented.

Sometimes you are enjoying a dive so much you want to stay down a little longer. Wouldn’t it be nice to know how to plan extended dive times for that once in a lifetime trip or infrequently visited dive site? Or maybe instead of doing 2 separate dives on the same wreck, you’d rather do one long dive.

The cost of the course includes:

  • TDI Decompression Procedures Manual
  • a Student Workbook
  • 2 evenings (or a weekend day) of lecture
  • 2 (or 4) certification dives for skills training and demonstration during a 2-tank wreck dive

Students are responsible for their own gas, entrance and charter boat fees which are not included in the cost of the course.

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive the prestigious TDI Decompression Procedures Certification Card.

This course is currently only being offered in conjunction with our TDI Advanced Nitrox, which is a prerequisite.

Additional specific equipment is required for this course. However, Do Not purchase any equipment prior to speaking with a TDC equipment consultant or before the first evening of lecture, where we will review in depth all the necessary and acceptable equipment.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a TDI Decompression Procedures certification card.

Please check the Calendar for the next date this course will be held. Class size is limited so if you are interested, call us today at 516-796-6560 to hold a position in the next class for you.
